Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Madad app and the website madad-app.com (together, the "Services"), operated by Madad ("Madad", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using the Services, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Services.

1. What Madad is

Madad is a market for building and finishing materials, equipment, workshops, contractors and engineers in Syria. It lets you browse what stores list and contact them. Madad is not the seller of anything listed and is not a party to any agreement between you and a store.

Some store pages were prepared by Madad from information the business itself published, before its owner took the page over. These pages are marked as not managed by the store; their prices and details may be out of date, so confirm them with the store.

2. Who may use Madad

You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract under Syrian law.

3. Your account

• You sign in with your mobile number and a one-time code we send to it on WhatsApp.
• You are responsible for your phone and for everything done through your account.
• Give accurate information and keep it up to date.
• Do not use someone else’s number, impersonate anyone, or create accounts to abuse the Services.

4. Requests to stores

• A contact or price request passes your details to the store so that it can reach you. It is not a purchase.
• The store alone is responsible for its prices, availability, delivery, payment terms, invoices, warranty and after-sale service.
• Any agreement, payment or dispute is between you and the store. Madad does not take payment for any product or service listed.

5. Madad is free

Using Madad and opening a store are free. Madad does not sell any digital feature, subscription or points in the app. If paid features are ever offered, they will be offered through Google Play’s billing system where it applies, and these Terms will be updated before they appear.

6. Stores

• A store is opened from the app, and opening one requires accepting these Terms. A store page prepared by Madad is taken over with a code sent to the number Madad has for that business.
• List only products and services you are legally allowed to sell, and keep their details, photos and specifications accurate.
• Answer the people who contact you in good time and in good faith.
• Do not sell counterfeit goods, weapons, hazardous materials, or anything restricted under Syrian law, and comply with the commercial, tax and safety rules that apply to you.
• What you publish in your store is public. You can ask us to take your store down at any time, and deleting your account removes it. Madad may remove a store that breaks these Terms.

7. Inviting and recommending people

Add only the numbers of people you know and who would expect to hear from Madad. By adding a number, you confirm that you are allowed to share it with us.

8. Tools

The spirit level, plumb, protractor, compass, vibration, sound and light meters, distance and tape measures, colour tools and paint visualizer give estimates from your phone’s sensors and camera. They are not calibrated measuring instruments: do not rely on them where accuracy matters for safety, structure or money, and check with proper instruments and a qualified professional. The augmented-reality tools run on Google Play Services for AR (ARCore), which is provided by Google LLC and governed by the Google Privacy Policy and Google’s terms.

9. Voice search

Voice search relies on an outside speech-to-text provider. It may be unavailable or misunderstand what you say; you can always type your search.

10. Acceptable use

When using the Services, you agree not to:

• break any law or regulation;
• post false, misleading or harmful content, including fake reviews or listings;
• harass, threaten or defame anyone;
• send spam, malware or unsolicited advertising;
• copy the Services’ data in bulk, reverse-engineer the Services, or interfere with their servers or security;
• use the Services for any purpose these Terms do not allow.

Prohibited content

Madad has zero tolerance for objectionable content. You may not publish — in a store name, logo, cover, description, listing, photo, work or service — any content that:

• is sexual, pornographic, or sexually suggestive;
• sexualizes, exploits, or endangers minors in any way;
• promotes hatred or discrimination based on religion, sect, ethnicity, nationality, gender, or disability, or incites violence;
• depicts graphic violence, or promotes terrorism, weapons, or drugs;
• harasses, bullies, threatens, or defames any person;
• impersonates another person, store, or brand;
• uses photos or text you do not have the right to use;
• is fraudulent, deceptive, or advertises goods that are illegal under Syrian law.

11. Your content

You keep ownership of what you publish (listings, photos, works, reviews). By publishing it, you give Madad a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display, adapt and distribute it as needed to run and promote the Services. You confirm that you have the rights needed to give this licence.

Reporting and enforcement. Every store, listing and work page in the app has a Report option. We review reports within 48 hours. Content that breaks these Terms is removed, and the account that published it may be suspended or closed without notice.

12. Intellectual property

The Madad name, logo, software and design belong to Madad or its licensors. Apart from the limited right to use the Services, no rights pass to you. If you believe a page on Madad uses your trademark, photos or information without the right to do so, contact us: we will review it and remove what should not be there.

13. Suspension and closing your account

• You may stop using the Services at any time and delete your account from within the app.
• We may suspend or close access, with or without notice, if you break these Terms, misuse the Services, or create risk or legal exposure for Madad or others.
• Provisions that by their nature should survive closing an account continue to apply.

14. Disclaimers

The Services are provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind. Madad does not guarantee that listings are accurate, that stores will keep their commitments, or that the Services will be uninterrupted or error-free. You use the Services at your own risk.

15. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Madad and its staff are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of profit, revenue, data or goodwill, arising from your use of the Services or from any dealing with a store.

16. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify Madad against any claim, loss or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the Services, your content, your breach of these Terms, or your violation of anyone else’s rights.

17. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Syrian Arab Republic. Disputes fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in Damascus, unless the law requires otherwise.

18. Changes

We may change the Services or these Terms. Material changes are announced in the Services, and continuing to use the Services after they take effect means you accept them.
